HEVRA operates as a specialist subsidiary of the Independent Garage Association (IGA) within the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI) family, strengthening the independent repair sector’s transition to EVs.
Founded by Pete Melville, an EV master technician and long-standing advocate for independent repair, HEVRA grew from a small technical collective into a national network helping garages become EV specialists.
In 2025, Pete was invited to the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace following a Department for Transport nomination — recognition of HEVRA’s role in advancing safe EV maintenance.
